New Zealand - Day 4 - Motueka to Greymouth
We got up and set off for the west coast today by taking the inland route from Motueka. We stopped to take some photos at the Buller Gorge and at several small beaches and lookouts on the way.
Carl observed that the scenery kept getting better and better as we drove along and he was right! We reached the ultimate in west coast scenery at Punakaiki with the pancake rocks. We enjoyed an amazing walk around the cliffs and took a mountain of photos.
We got to Greymouth about tea time and were wondering aloud where we could find accommodation in town when we rounded a bend and saw a stone pub emblazoned with the word ACCOMMODATION in huge letters. Problem solved.
The building turned out to be Revington's hotel, home of a little Irish pub called Danny Doolan's. That night we sampled the best of west coast beer, Monteith's. We tried Celtic Red, Golden Lager, Black, Classic and Radler.
