New Zealand - Day 9 - Omarama to Akaroa

We jumped in the car and after stopping by to say a quick goodbye to Possum, headed east again out of snow country.

Carl had a turn at driving through some of the back roads and did very well despite it eventuating that Jess is a very nervy driving instructor!

We bypassed Christchurch and headed over the hill to Akaroa.  We stopped on the way to take in the magic view complete with rainbow and shimmering rain before descending into the Akaroa township which is a tiny French colony.

We checked into a small cabin overlooking the harbour and were stoked to find we could do our own cooking and save some money.  We booked to go on a dolphin swim the next day.
