New Zealand - Day 11 - Akaroa to Hanmer Springs

We drove to Hanmer Springs today listening to Jason Mraz and singing along loudly. 

While gassing up at Culverden Carl experienced a NZ rural fire alarm (which basically is an old air raid siren) and had no idea what was going on! 

Once we got to Hanmer we checked in to a gorgeous motel and headed out for lunch and mini golf which I am sad to say I lost! 

That night we went to the famous Hanmer Springs thermal reserve and had another soak but this one wasn’t as private as in Omarama. 

After our swim we went home and watched Once Were Warriors and its sequel What Becomes of the Broken Hearted.
